The Auditorium Parco della Musica represents a sophisticated music architecture and an extraordinary urban improvement work.
Its history started in 1993 when the City of Rome published a new international call of tender to find "home” to the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia who was left without its original headquarter.
On July 27th 1994 Renzo Piano Building Workshop won the project. On January 15th 1995 the project was delivered to the City of Rome but constructions were interrupted in November because they found the rests of an ancient Roman villa. This meant to reconsider the project, presented again in 1996, when they decided to fully integrate them in the conceived complex.
In 2003 was finished and it started to run at full speed. The extraordinary complex is few minutes away from the city centre and stands between the Tiber banks, the quarter Parioli hill and the Olympic Village. It's the largest multifunctional complex of Europe and one of the largest in the world.
The Parco della Musica hosts a rich and varied music programming, film premieres, theatre performances, art exhibitions, literary festivals, major events and exhibitions such as international level conferences, corporate meetings, other types of social events, product launches and television performances.
Main Sessions of the Congress will be held in the Sinopoli Hall, that is dedicated to the great composer and conductor Giuseppe Sinopoli. The lay-out of the Hall guarantees perfect sound quality and visibility for optimum audience satisfaction. This hall walls are covered with cherry-wood panels and traditional Ancient Rome style brick as a homage to the traditional architecture of the Capital City.
Whilst Parallel Sessions (Sponsored Symposia, Free Communications and other scientific activities) will be held in the Risonanze area.
Pre-Congress PG Courses
will be held on April 25th and 26th at the Auditorium Parco della Musica in Studios 1,2,3
